Hello all you Fitness freaks!! RU ready for this?!
Whether you're at your computer, your phone, or curled up on the sofa, I just want to send a warm WELCOME and introduce myself!! My name is Sarah Miller, and I created this blog site to help all you college kids stay healthy and fit in college. Because trust me, I know it's hard. I have been active my whole life. From playing soccer since I was 5, to running track, or even just running around outside with my neighbors, there was never a day I was not running around. Then, coming into college, this all stopped. I stopped playing sports, I was trying to adjust to a new lifestyle of eating food that my mom did not prepare for me, which meant it was not always healthy. I felt like I had no time for the gym, and all I ever did was go to class or be lazy and watch Netflix on my laptop. I saw some huge differences in my body, and I gained the most weight I ever have during my freshman year. I realized it was time for a major lifestyle change. I had to figure out a way to stay healthy, even in my tiny little freshman dorm. I started making time for the gym instead of being lazy in my bed. I started making healthier eating choices, and I also started drinking lots of water. That is why I wanted to create this blog site for all you college kiddies going through the same thing as me. This site is designed to give you all workouts you can do at the gym, or even at home or in your dorm room. I also share some of my healthiest recipes that are easy to make. Don't have a kitchen? No worries. I include some meal prepping tips and foods you can buy that are frozen; all you need is a microwave.
It IS possible to eat healthy at school. Trust me, I know it's hard. I've done it myself. I've gone through it. What I want to do is let you all know some tricks and tips I found useful during my time at Rowan University before it's too late, and you go through some consequences like myself.
Freshman year...a time of INDEPENDENCE. You're finally home, away from mom and dad, and you can do whatever you want. Sounds great, right? Well, it's all fun until you eat out every single meal of every single day, and go home for break to mom telling you that you look bigger. The worst feeling is being told you put on some weight, and most of the time, you don't even notice it yourself. My freshman year, I gained almost 12 pounds. I went from being a two-sport athlete and working out every day since I was in elementary school, to having the freedom to lay in bed all day and eat whatever I want. I had the luxury my whole life of my mom's healthy cooking. She packed my lunch every day, and cooked the healthiest and tastiest dinners. I didn't realize how much I relied on her healthy cooking, and my working out to maintain the shape I've had my whole life.
Now, I'm a Junior here at Rowan University, and I've learned some things along the way. First off, I lost those 12 pounds the summer after freshman year, and was able to maintain the same weight from then until now. I changed my ways when it comes to eating right, and working out.
I really hope you all enjoy my site, and that it benefits each and every one of you in some way. My page will help you become the fittest, happiest, healthiest, and most confident you have felt in a while, No more being down on yourself. Time to make a change.
